How to verify your domain email in Flodesk with Squarespace

If you’re ready to uplevel your email marketing on Flodesk and ready to move away from your personal Gmail to your business domain name then you’ve come to the right place. In this blog, I am going to walk you through how to verify your domain name in Flodesk with Squarespace.

And the best part is it’s super simple and easy.

Before we get started here’s a quick disclaimer: This blog is neither endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with Squarespace. However, Please note that some links are affiliate links and I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you if you purchase through those links. I use all the products below and recommend them because they are companies that I have found helpful and trustworthy. Please let me know if you have any questions about any links listed below.

If you’re not familiar with Flodesk, it’s an email platform like Constant Contact, MailChimp, ConvertKit, etc. One of my favorite things about Flodesk besides their flexible design is their overall platform which is easy to use and navigate.

If you’re still searching for an email platform I recommend you take a look at Flodesk and try it out. The best part is you almost get to do a try before you buy trial. I was so in love with the platform that I didn’t wait to try it out. When you’re ready to invest use the following link to receive a whopping 50% off your yearly subscription.

Okay, enough promo talk, although seriously go and check it out because I think you’re really going to like it. Before we get started on how to authorize your domain name let’s talk about the benefits of setting up your domain email.

  • You look professional. I would say this the most important and valuable benefit. Not only are you telling your subscriber that you mean business but it also gives you the confidence to send more emails out

  • Your emails don’t go to Spam or Junk mail. If you've ever subscribed to anything then most changes you don’t see those emails go directly to your inbox. You’ll usually find them in Spam or Junk mail but eventually, they get moved into your inbox whether you did it manually or your email server detected you opening the emails on a consistent basis. Well, when you authorize your email you are telling the email servers that you are indeed legit and to send you emails directly to your subscriber’s inbox.

  • You get better email results. Yes, it’s true. this happens more because of the previous benefit. When you start popping into people’s inbox they have a better chance of seeing your emails and a higher chance of opening them.

Okay, these are just a few benefits. There are definitely more reasons to get your domain set up but for now, I think these suffice. Now it’s time to move forward to authorizing your domain name.

1. Add Domain Email

If you haven’t added your domain email yet open your Flodesk and head over to email setup and add a new user. Once you’ve added your domain name then click to start the verification process.

2. Add CNAMES

Select your domain provider. For this post, we are working with Squarespace so that is the domain provider we will be selecting. Open your Squarespace and head to your domain settings. If you’re unsure where that is follow the image sample below.

In Squarespace, head to your domain tabs and go to advanced settings to access your DNS.

Once you’ve accessed those settings then you are going to copy the three CNAMES given by Flodesk and paste them into your Squarespace CNAMES.
